If you check the website stage information you will see I am publishing the route information via the Garmin link at the foot of each stage summary. This should enable you to see what you will be facing each day.
At the moment this area of Andalucia has been hit by heavy rains and floods, many of the tracks we use for the race have been damaged but once the winter is over they should be repaired fairly quickly. I am going out an regular basis by mountain bike and running to monitor progress on the routes.
At the moment many of them are the only routes into public recreation areas and camp sites. Stage 2’s, Hell’s Path, which was improved and " smoothed " the week after the 2009 race!! is once again in a bad state but by July it should be ok.
More updates on the route will follow over next few weeks.

Clothing and equipment for multi stage and ultra races.
Our association with Dave Scott of Sand-baggers.com continues to develop and between us we can offer and recommend a very good range of products. I will be reviewing and taking orders for some new items which will include Grivel Trail Poles and Trangoworld Skin Micro lite sleeping mats, Peronin high-tec food, Trek’n Eat meals, GoMotion waist and sternum lights, Formthotics insoles plus RaidLight, UKGear, Injinji and Eletewater which I always have available to order.
Training.
Desert Runner Training Camps and the Siete Lagunas fastpacking trip can also be booked through www.sand-baggers.com and more Desert Runner Camps are planned throughout the year. We have a special camp planned for April 7th to 11th which, although aimed at competitors for the Gobi Challenge, would be useful for those looking at entering Al Andalus or any other ultra stage races. Siete Lagunas is good for those entered in the UTMB.
As for Al Andalus, so far we have 16 of our 2009 competitors returning plus a very good female entry including a team from Singapore and a young woman from Malaysia.
Enter the Al Andalus Ultra Trail 2010, as an individual or as a team. Full details and Entry Forms here >>
Get the best out of the race and your body with our range of tested and recommended sports wear and products.
All entrants can have their name and photo displayed on the Competitors page.
