Ultra runner performance testing at Al Andalus Ultra Trail - ( In conjunction with the Coventry University research programme previously covered in NEWS. )
1. Optima-life is a company situated in Central London specializing in technology and services for optimising health and performance in work, sport and everyday life.
2. During the course of the Al Andalus Ultra Trail race Optima-life will be testing each runner wearing a Heart Rate Variability monitor during the event and overnight to measure training load ( EPOC ) and recovery.
3. Optima-life will be using " Firstbeat " SPORTS software to analyse how your body is reacting, determine what recovery is being made and when this is happening. The analysis will show whether an athlete is meeting the goals of a training session and whether the body is making sufficient recovery to accept and cope with further demands.
The Optima-life Remote Monitoring Service will give each runner objective data to helpmake informed judgments on your training load, and your daily stress levels and how you are recovering. Using physiological data optima-life will produce personalised physiological assessments that tells exactly how your body is performing and coping.
Dehydrated Meals and Peronin liquid food - Don’t forget to pre order your dehydrated meals as soon as possible unless you are bringing your own.
( Refer to previous NEWS article for order info ). The race shop will stock some Peronin, Mule bars and 9 bars but not main meals.
